Elgin Mills Door Hardware Co. works on the part of the door most people never look at until it fails. Closers, exit devices, hold-opens, and the pivots and strikes that decide whether a door latches: it is a narrow trade, and doing only that is what lets us walk into a Richmond Hill condo tower, look at forty fire doors in an afternoon, and know which ones need a valve turned and which ones need the unit off the wall.
Almost all of our work is commercial, institutional and multi-residential — property managers with fire doors that have to stand up to an inspection, plaza landlords along Yonge, Highway 7 and Elgin Mills whose tenant entrances take salt and grit all winter, Beaver Creek office condominiums, and schools and community centres with exit hardware and accessible operators to keep running.
